Year in Review: Glenside 2021 Round-up
Alex Kirkup-Lee • Dec 20, 2021

As 2021 draws to a close and we enter the new year, now is a good time to reflect on the challenges and achievements we’ve experienced at Glenside Commercial Interiors over the past year.

From flexible working to an increased focus on safety and wellbeing, this year we have seen a big shift in the ways of working as offices have reopened and employees have returned to workplaces. Agile working and the hybrid office have become a common way of working, with companies having had to adapt both new working practices and altered use of office spaces.

Creative Solutions.

We have enjoyed helping companies through this journey and challenges. We had to think even more creatively this year about how we could redesign the traditional office space to suit new working practices.

Some of the solutions we created this year included:

  • Creating agile working zones, including areas for collaboration, meetings and private calls.
  • Installing breakout areas to allow employees to relax and to increase social interaction.
  • Updating acoustics and technology to allow for multiple video calls without disruption, as well as implementing electronic booking systems for meeting room bookings and desk allocations.
  • Adding Covid-19 Protection such as specialist desk screens and partitions.
  • Creating sustainable offices spaces and incorporating biophilic design

A Diverse Range of Projects.

We are also proud to have worked across a diverse range of projects this year, using our creativity not just for office space but for lab fit outs, installing mezzanine floors and even helping to fit out a home furnishings showroom. We have certainly expanded our portfolio and are excited to use our expertise across a wide range of sectors and spaces in 2022.

Showroom Updates.

We are excited to announce that we are carrying out updates on our showroom in Reading, which will be complete in the new year. Visit our showroom to witness physical and aesthetic aspects of commercial redesign and fit-out and discover how your space could look. Sample fabrics, furniture, layouts and technology for washrooms, receptions, meeting rooms, agile zones and more. Soon we will have even more for you to visit and experience!
