A website post by the West Berkshire Council reports that Newbury has been listed as one of the top 25 European Cities of the Future.
This terrific achievement was awarded in the fDi European Cities and Regions of the Future 2020/21 report published by the Financial Times. It also came within the top ten European Northern European Cities as well as achieving high rankings in the Micro City and Economic Potential categories.
The Leader of the West Berkshire Council Lynne Doherty said: "This is a real vote of confidence in Newbury and West Berkshire and all that we have to offer. We're proud of our district and pleased its future potential has been recognised in this report.”
She also added that the district was a great place to live and work, and having carried out a range of exciting office design
and fit out projects in Newbury and the surrounding area, the team at Glenside would fully support her view.
There were further notable successes for conurbations in the Thames Valley, with both Slough and Reading gaining top ten rankings in the European Small City category. The UK as a whole has also scored highly across its cities and regions.
